Sun hit our tent pretty early - I think we were in full sun by 6 am. We got up, had a leisurely breakfast, and started the task of breaking camp and packing. This took several hours.
We finally started down about mid-morning. Fortunately, we were able to glissade a portion of the snowfield, and we could have glissaded farther had we brought sleds or plastic sheets. As it was, the amount we were able to do probably saved us an hour of walking.
The farther down we went, the more we hurt. Most of the aches involved feet or shoulders, although there were other miscellaneous pains as well. For some reason, it seemed harder walking down the trail than the snow, or at least more painful.
When we finally returned to the van, we visited the gift shop in the lodge before driving back to Tacoma. Our celebration dinner involved steak, crab legs, and champagne. We all slept very well that night!
